April 15, 2024.
what state do you live in. residents of certain states nay have a different deadline due to Federal declaration
For residents of Maine, the federal tax return due date for 2024 has been extended due to severe storms and flooding. If you reside in Androscoggin, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo, or Washington Counties, the new deadline to file is June 17, 20241. For taxpayers in Cumberland, Hancock, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Waldo, Washington, and York counties, the deadline has been postponed to July 15, 20242.
Normally, due to Patriot’s Day and Emancipation Day observances, Maine residents would have until April 17, 2024. However, please note that these extensions apply to the specific counties mentioned, and you should check if your area is included in the disaster relief. For the most accurate and updated information, it’s always best to consult the IRS website or a tax professional.
Massachusetts also has a default due date of 4/17
