Yes, you can always just file. If you find later that you could have used your medical expenses and they benefit you, an amendment can always be done later. The standard deduction may be all you need.
Yes, it is possible. If you have all the records for all your income, you can use TurboTax to enter that and elect to use the Standard Deduction instead of itemizing to report your medical (and other) deductions/credits. It will result in a higher tax to be paid, but relieves all the pressure to find receipts and other evidence of deductible expenses.
