Is it okay to file with shortened last name? My last name has 2 names and total length is 21 characters including a space. TurboTax can fit maximum of only 20 characters

Yes, it is okay to shorten your last name to 20 characters.

The IRS matches the first four letters of your last name with your social security number so it won't be a problem to shorten it.
