I was supposed to receive my tax return April 10. The IRS is saying one of my employers did not send the W2 to them. By law the company is supposed to send the IRS a copy. Is this correct? If this so why would I have to go to this employer?

actually w-2's are supposed to be filed with the Social Security Administration which then relays the data to the IRS. Generally the employer's filing deadline is January 31st. of the following year.
if employer mailed them, they could have gotten lost. it is also possible that the employer hand wrote the W-2's which can cause problems for the SSA in reading and inputting the correct numbers on them. many other possibilities.
