I a having trouble editing the schedule C information on my NY taxes

The Schedule C information is import to your state tax return through your federal tax return entries. In order to change your Schedule C, you would need to edit your federal tax return. Any changes made to the Schedule C on your federal return will update on your state return. To edit your Schedule C in TurboTax, follow these steps:
When i click on the edit icon it doesn't take me to the next place where i can edit
TurboTax transfers data from your federal return to your state return. If you need to make any changes, they would need to be made on the federal Schedule C.
Once you're done, select the State Taxes tab and review the state section. Pay close attention to the info, especially if you made changes to your federal return. There might be new sections that need to be completed.
Sometimes changes made to your federal return won't transfer if you override info on your state return. If this happens, delete your state return and start over.
I am having same issue. Why is schedule c form grayed out and you can't edit it? When I go through questions, the one I need does not come up for me to change.
This doesn't work, I can't get same questions to come up to fix it.
Which question do you need? Which version of TurboTax are you using?
The sole proprietor version. In sceduchle c, lines 44 and 45, the sale price and expense of sale for my vehicle. I did not dispose nor sell it. I messed up and first put I did and entered zeroes there. I went back and unchecked that I did and took out date but those zeroes are still on those lines and I can't get to that to remove them. This is preventing me to efile.
Online or desktop?
You can delete the vehicle and the vehicle worksheet and then re-enter it. If you are using the online version, you should clear your cache and cookies after you delete the vehicle.
If you are using the desktop version, then you can switch to forms mode and delete the vehicle worksheet. If you are using the online version follow the instructions below to delete the worksheet.

Always use extreme caution when deleting information from your tax return. There could be unintended consequences.
Online version. I was afraid of that, that's is what I was told by chatting. I was hoping there was another way. The vehicle was entered back in 2008 and I am afraid to delete because I don't remember what questions will be asked to reenter. Oh well, if that is my only option. I will. Thanks.
Prior to deleting it you can print your return. This will allow you to still have the worksheet. Just remember to print all forms and worksheets or you can just print that worksheet, but make sure the worksheets are selected, not just the forms for filing.
Can you please put a ticket in to have your software people fix the issue of not being able to edit/fix issues with schedule C on the online version of TurboTax 2025?
It's ridiculous that we are not able to edit or fix these fields (and are thus prevented from filing) without having to delete that section, deleting cookies and restarting that whole section again. This will be the last time I use the online version - it's terrible.... lots of room for improvement. For example, when using help section, the pop up window provides direction on where to go, but you have to close that window (and it's instructions) to be able to follow the directions.
@8609839579 You have added on to a year old thread. What problems are you having with Schedule C?
Aware that I’m replying to a year old thread. It is because the problem still exists: one cannot edit a schedule C once it has been completed. We have to delete that entire section and start over. A RIDICULOUS solution to a known software flaw.
i was only able to fix it by doing just that, wasting hours troubleshooting the problem, while trying to re-enter the correct information, only to find the answer in this year-old thread that not only the problem still exists, but knowing that I had to essentially restart.
my ask is simple: please submit a request to the software team to fix this flaw.
Did you find a solution? My Schedule C box 1 below will not let me uncheck the box saying that I am a statutory employee. I keep deleting and re-entering my W2, but it will not go away
I spent an hour and a half yesterday with a rep who was not only unknowledgeable but also advised me to use the override function, which now I can no longer file electronically. I am furious ARGH
