A townhouse would be considered a single family dwelling.

What if I rent out my townhouse's basement, which has it's own entrance separate from the main part of the house? Is this considered renting out a "part of my home" or "a unit in multi-unit property"?

That would depend on how you have it listed with zoning. If you have it listed as a separate unit then yes, it would be considered a multi-unit property.

If it is not listed as a separate unit, then you would consider it part of your home.
