MY IP PIN is 6 digits and, according to my IRS letter, is to be used for electronic filing. However, the TT field is only 5 digits.
I've found no other PIN on the IRS site. How do I use a 6-digit PIN in a 5-digit field?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You are in the Self-Select PIN entry if you are being asked for a 5 digit number. To enter your 6 digit IP PIN, search for IP PIN and use the Jump to IP PIN link. The IP PIN can also be found in the Other Tax Situations in TurboTax.
If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file. Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.
