My husband and I just purchased an investment property in Idaho, a duplex, that is being rented to family for less than the Mortgage. We are not a business entity, nor have to be, to be landlords in Idaho. How do we add this investment property to our tax filing in 23'? When I got into Turbtax to try and find out, all I saw was treating it as a business, which we can't do. Please help me figure this out, so I feel more comfortable doing our own taxes again this year. I don't want to have to take this all to an accountant, unless I have to.
