Interest income reporting

Turbo Tax 2024 now has a reqirement to provide the Payer's Federal ID number for each interest payment received. This new for 2024. The bank chat bot was no help in providing this number.  The customer service rep was no help in providing this number.

Is this a new requirement from the IRS or a copy/paste error by TurboTax? It is on the same page as the Dividend reporting which requires the Federal ID and has for many years,

An EIN is not required to report interest or dividends. If the program won’t let you move forward enter any random number and continue with your return.
