Installing Turbotax Standard 2024 on a second computer

Has anyone heard any news about Intuit working on correcting or removing their faulty 2024 software that tracks hardware installations? 

I am trying to make a decision on what software we will choose for our 2024 tax returns. These two issues are now showstoppers for me:

1.  I read that my son will no longer be able to install TT Standard on his computer, unless he impersonates me. I get it, Intuit wants to make it really difficult for a family to actually achieve their marketed 8 returns.

2.  I read that the software design or implementation is not robust, which results in users randomly having to consume another hardware activation when they open the app on same desktop computer.
