In 2024 Deluxe - The 1099-Div income shows up in the 1099-INT heading in TurboTax

I thought I had entered a 1099-Div income in the wrong area because in TurboTax, The 1099-Div area is $0 even though I entered 1099-Div income.  I pulled up the 1099-Div section in TurboTax and it seems the same items that show up under 1099-Int show up in 1099-Div.

I don't think I've seen this happen before.

In 2024 Deluxe - The 1099-Div income shows up in the 1099-INT heading in TurboTax

You can preview your tax return to see if the dividend income and interest have been reported in the right place.  If not, you can delete those Forms 1099-INT and 1099-DIV and re-enter them manually.

Try previewing your actual return to make sure your interest and dividends are being reported properly. Schedule B should show your interest and dividends. Interest will flow to line 2b of your Form 1040 and your dividends will flow to line 3b.

You can get to your tax return in TurboTax desktop as follows:

  1. Switch to Forms Mode, and then  (see screenshots below for additional guidance)
  2. Scroll through your forms in the left panel and
  3. Click on the form you want to preview (Example Form 1040)

You can get to your Tax Return in TurboTax Online as follows:

  1. Go to "Tax Tools" in your left panel,
  2. Select "Tools" and then
  3. Select "View Tax Summary" and
  4. Select "Preview Form 1040"

If your entries are not correct, you can delete the Forms 1099-INT and 1099-DIV and re-enter them manually.

The instructions below are for a Form 1099-DIV, but they will also work the same for a Form 1099-INT.

  6. Next to the Form 1099-DIV you want to delete, click on the (down-Facing) caret

In 2024 Deluxe - The 1099-Div income shows up in the 1099-INT heading in TurboTax

Under 'Forms' - Schedule B, the Dividend amount shows up properly.  But in the Step by Step, the dividend shows up under Interest.

Weird !!
