IHSS provider

I’m a IHSS provider and I don’t live with the recipient. Looks like this will be the first time owing taxes. From what I’m understanding it’s because not enough taxes are being taking out causing me to owe. Is there a way of fixing this to where I can have more taxes taken out? Thank you

If you live with your client, your IHSS income is exempt from taxes. If you do not live with your client, it is not exempt and you will pay taxes. This is because of a special IRS regulation called difficulty of care income tax exclusion.

Thank you very much for replying to my question. I know I might had to pay taxes. But Is there a way of more taxes to be taking out so at the end of the year I won’t owe as much? Thank you

Yes, you can file a new Form W-4 with your employer to withhold more tax from your pay.

Here's more info on Form W-4.
