I still need to do my 2017 Federal and state taxes. Will I be able to use Turbotax online after Oct.15th 2018 to do my 2017 taxes?For example  will I be able to use Turbotax online to do my 2017 taxes on Oct. 22,2018 ?

Turbotax online will shut down sometime after the October 15 deadline.  It is usually open a few extra days for customers who have started but not finished, or who need to correct e-file rejections.  We don't know the exact dates yet, but you should not count on being able to use it past October 15.  You will need to buy Turbotax 2017 as a CD or download to install on your own computer.

If you do need to switch to the downloaded version then make sure to save the .tax2017 file to your computer before the shutdown as there is usually a blackout period for a few weeks while the 2017 returns are being archived to make room for the 2018 program.  This way you don't need to pay for the online & the downloaded versions.

And of course, e-filing will be closed so you will have to print, sign and mail your 2017 returns.
