If you are on Medicare, and have private Blue Cross insurance, how do you get a "health insurance worksheet federal number?

We are retired and do not work, so no W-2 forms.

If you are on Medicare, and have private Blue Cross insurance, how do you get a "health insurance worksheet federal number?

For the federal or state return?  If state, which state?

If you are on Medicare, and have private Blue Cross insurance, how do you get a "health insurance worksheet federal number?

OK, I figured it out, it is the Blue Cross insurance number, but you CANNOT enter it with the letters in front of the numbers.  I just kept messing around with it, and it worked. Might be easier if TT would mention that Blue cross is the kind of insurance that most retirees have, or Kaiser, or just make a list of the names.

If you are on Medicare, and have private Blue Cross insurance, how do you get a "health insurance worksheet federal number?

In the federal return you do not need a "health insurance worksheet federal number."

If you happen to be in the MA return (just a guess since they were on the forefront of requiring health insurance), follow these steps:

  1. On the screen, When did you have minimum creditable coverage (MCC)? mark the radio button that your health insurance met MCC all year and click Continue.
  2. On the screen, What type of health insurance did you have in 2018? mark the box I had something else
  3. Under What type of insurance was it?, mark the box for Medicare (including a relacement or supplemental plan).
