If you received a notice from the IRS for a Form 1095-A and a Form 8962 and you did not have health care insurance through either one of the state Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov for the year in question then you need to contact the IRS using the phone number on the notice you received.
The IRS may well have incorrect information on you for your health insurance.
Hi. This was my first attempt at filing my own taxes. I received a letter from IRS asking for 1095-a. I wish I had seen this message, before spending day making calls, to my employer, Health insurance carrier and IRS.
So, I should call the number listed on the letter I received from the IRS, correct?
Do I need to amend 2022 taxes?
@AMA2011 No, you do not need to amend the 2022 tax return. You will need to contact the IRS using the phone number on the notice.
A Form 1095-A would have only been issued to you if your health insurance was provided through one of the State Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov (Obamacare).
If you had employer provided health care you would NOT have been issued a Form 1095-A.
