If I go with TurboTax "Live" Premier, must I manually input all the information or can I import from last year's TurboTax Premier 2019 (which in a file on my laptop)?

You can transfer your tax data file (with a filename extension .tax[year], such as .tax2019) only if you're switching a prior year return online in TurboTax Live Basic, TurboTax Deluxe, TurboTax Live Deluxe, TurboTax Premier, TurboTax Live Premier, TurboTax Self-Employed, or TurboTax Live Self-Employed.

You won't be able to transfer the information you've entered for this year, but if you are looking to get Live help with your taxes, it might be worth the trouble of re-entering you information to ensure your return is prepared correctly, and that you're getting all the deductions and credits you to which you are entitled.

If you have already purchased the 2020 Desktop software, you will have to pay again for Online.  Once you have filed your return using Online, follow these instructions to return your CD/Download copy of TurboTax for a refund.
