I work from Alaska for a California-based company that pays me through a third party. My W2 has an "employer" address in New York. Do I need to file a NY return?

I think the third party used to be based in Florida, but got acquired in the past year. Who would know if I need to file a New York return — the third party?

If I filed taxes from tax year I paid turbo tax for the help and now I'm getting tax liens from IRS about unpaid taxes shouldn't they be helping get it resolved
