I want to file my 2019 taxes for free. How do I do this?

Can I do them on TurboTax and then print them out and mail them?

There is no free filing after October 15, and TurboTax Online for 2019 is shut down to get ready for 2020. To file for 2019 now you have to use the CD or download TurboTax software for 2019. You can purchase a download at the following link.

Past Years' Products

You might get a better price from a reputable online seller that still has TurboTax for 2019 in stock.

Tax returns for 2019 can no longer be e-filed. You will have to print your 2019 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail. The IRS stopped processing mailed tax returns for several months because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They recently started to process them again, but they have limited staff and a huge backlog, so it will be quite a while before your tax return is processed.

2019 EIC and Tax Tables  https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf

Don’t forget your state.  And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.
