I started to work for a new company and I will be receiving a 1099. I get paid only once a month. Am I filing taxes on what I was paid in 2017 or what I actually worked?

They will send you a 1099-Misc for what they paid you in 2017. So you will claim what you were paid. They should have sent you a 1099 by January 31.
