I should be eligible for the $1400 payment that the IRS is sending out to people whom did not claim the Recovery Rebate on 2021 tax return. How do I claim/request it?

It says the payments were sent automatically, but I never received it. But I also have no idea what address or bank account I would have been using back then. Can I file a tax return for this year and claim this credit or do I need to file 2021's tax return? Thanks, Confused, broke, and hopeful.

If you have not received an automatic recovery rebate, there is still time to file a 2021 return to request this.  Before doing this, you can call the IRS toll-free at 800-829-1040 to verify that the rebate was not sent to you, as it sounds like you had a few bank accounts/addresses.

To file a 2021 return, you only have until 4/15/25.  Here is where you can access prior year software: File your 2021 taxes
