I sent a referral code to a friend who used it for their taxes. They received the discount for their taxes but I never received any notification for getting a gift card?

All I’m reading is that I’ll get my card from a store I chose in an email 45 days after my referral does their taxes. I never got to chose a company so I’m confused as to when I’ll be getting that option?
