I received w-2s for 2022 jobs but I am currently unemployed and working DoorDash part time. I'm not receiving unemployment income. Do I file self employed/ic?

I only started DoorDash in the new year and am not filing taxes for that

Since you were not self-employed in 2022, don't say that you were. Just include your W-2s.

I'm not clear on what your question is. If you had no self-employment in 2022, you would not file any self-employment income. If you are asking about your occupation entry, this would be your occupation as of December 31, 2022.

So I started DoorDash on December 20th(ish) and made only $200 before 2023. When I first open Turbo Tax to file and it says (Tell us a bit about yourself and taxes) I'm sure if I am considered as self employed or have a job and received w-2 because my last job in 2022 was November so I'm confused. It costs to file as self employed?

As mentioned above, for tax year 2022 you file using the W-2s you received.  The Door Dash will be reported for 2023 tax year since you started this in 2023.  Your occupation for 2022 should be what is was in 2022 and you will file totally different for 2023.

For 2023 you will have a Schedule C as self employed for the Door Dash income. Plus you may also have W-2s.  Both can be shown on the same tax return.  If you use TurboTax next year, all you will need to do it to enter the information as received and TurboTax will calculate for you.

Ok, so you did have SE income in 2022. You must include it.

We'll automatically complete Schedule C for you when you add your self-employment income in TurboTax (usually from Form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC). Here's how to add your self-employment income:

  1. Open or continue your return
  2. Search for schedule c and select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Answer Yes to Did you have any self-employment income or expenses?
    • If you've already entered self-employment work and need to enter more, select Add another line of work
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

I thought that's only if you make $400 plus in the year?

No, you have to report all your income. SE income is entered on Schedule C. You will not be subject to an additional SE tax under $400

I don't understand how to do that if I don't have forms from them

Right now we are filing only for what happened in the Tax Year 2022. If you did have DoorDash income during the 2022 year, then you will go to Wages and Income and select Self-employment income and expenses.  This will show in the Self-Employed version of TurboTax.

If you did not have DoorDash income or have unemployment benefits in 2022, you don't need to include them on the return now. Next year, when Tax Year 2023 will be submitted, DoorDash will give you information to include on your taxes.

You can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version or use any of the Desktop CD/Download programs. All the Desktop programs have the same forms.  You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.

How to enter income from Self Employment

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/self-employed/help/how-do-i-report-income-from-self-employment/00/...

Enter your total income as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income.  You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099Misc or 1099K.  Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash.  Only the total goes to schedule C.
