I received alimony of $38,000 and paid $3,500 taxes on 6-30-16 how/where do I state that?

FOR TAX YEAR 2016

If you receive Alimony:
Go to
Federal Taxes Tab
Wages & Income
Choose Jump to Full List -or
Choose  I'll choose what I work on
Scroll way down to Less Common Income
Alimony Received - Click the Start or Update button

TO ENTER THE ESTIMATES PAID:
You can type estimates paid in the search box at the top of your return and click Find and it will give you a link to Jump To it.

OR
To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in Jan 2017 for 2016, go to
Federal Taxes (or Personal for H&B version)
Deductions and Credits
Choose Jump to Full List -or  I'll choose what I work on
Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Estimated Taxes - click the Start or Update button

Estimated payments should show up on 1040 line 65 or 1040A line 41.
