I received a stipend for attending a conference about teaching, and I am a teacher. I received a 1099-MISC. How do I enter it in without labeling myself as self employed?

Enter the amount that is in box 7 into box 3 and it will be treated as other income. Be aware that the IRS might question why that amount is not related to a business.

My permanent address is in MO but did not earn any income there in 2023. I attend college in KS and was employed with two companies there. Do I file in both states?
