No, estimated tax payments are amounts you pay for the next tax year, you do not make estimated payments for a past year. If you made 2023 state tax payments in 2024, there is an entry for that.
You do not enter that information on a 2024 tax return. The TurboTax online editions are only for tax year 2024.
If you are completing a 2023 tax return using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on your personal computer, follow this procedure -
To enter, edit or delete estimated taxes paid (Federal, State, Local) -
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
On Estimates, click on the start or update button
Or enter estimates paid in the Search box located in the upper right of the online program screen. Click on Jump to estimates paid
Federal estimated taxes paid are entered on Form 1040 Line 26
State income and property taxes are capped at $10,000 in 2024 on your federal return and Oregon does not allow a deduction for Oregon state income taxes, so the extra $6,000 in taxes would not be deductible on your 2024 return. That may be why they don't show as a deduction in TurboTax.
