I will say the IRS agents will say whatever just to get you off the phone. I have called a total of 6 times and each time I have called I have been given different information. When I called BS on one of the agents by telling him that I had been told something different but the letter that I received was quoting a longer time frame, instead of him just owning it and apologizing for the error he disconnected my call. I called right back and got a nice woman and she stated that I had 60 days from the date my return began processing to receive my refund or another notice should they require additional info. Well Saturday I received another letter that stated the same exact verbiage as the review letter I received last Wed. but the time frame was 45 days. I called this morning and the lady said its still 60 days and I should receive my refund or letter on or before April 27. I told her I was told April 26. She put me on hold for almost 5 mins. then came back and said my apologies, it will be the 26th...Something just isn't adding up. I need for them to all be on the same page when quoting time frames to set a transparent expectation. I also asked were there any additional letters or updated codes that she could see, and she said no. I'm so over this madness I could scream.
