You need to enter the Form 1099-NEC in the business income section of TurboTax. You will be asked to set up a business to report the income as the IRS will assume you own a business. You can enter expenses that are ordinary and necessary for generating the business income.

That's OK. Just leave the W-2 data blank and fill out the 1099 investment data.
