What is the difference between e-filing and just reagular filing? What do I do after I file normally?

There are two ways in which you can file your return. They are e-file (electronic filing) and File by mail.

When you e-file your return it is done electronically. Usually, once you have transmitted your return electronically, there's nothing else that you need to do on your end. You will be notified via email when the return has been accepted.

The other option is to file by mail, which is exactly as it states, you will print off your return and follow the given instructions, take it to the local post office and mail it off to the IRS or to your State.

When completing your return and you get to the file section, TurboTax will ask you how you would like to file your return, it is recommended that you file electronically, because it is the most convenient way as well as it is the fastest way for you to get back a refund if one is expected.

I just prepared my 2020 online minutes ago.  It said I have to mail the return in.  Can I go in the site someway and change whatever needs to be changed so it can be filled electronically?

since I've clicked on "Done", I can still modify my return that states I must mail in due to some blank lines on the form?

Yes, save everything to PDF and print out all forms just in case any State(s) require when you mail in your return a copy of your Federal. Make sure to sign and date everything and keep paper copies for your records. When you mail out, I tell everyone, be SURE to mail in Certified Mail / Return Receipt Requested so as to ensure you have a receipt for filing and a stamped date from the Post Office, as well as a return receipt from the I.R.S. and your State(s) Department(s) of Revenue showing that a person signed for your mailed in returns.
