Not sure what you mean by "they were not as much as they should have been." If you got the recovery rebate credits on your 2020 and/or 2021 returns----why do you think the amount should have been more? Please explain.
And....it is too late to do anything about the 2020 recovery rebate credit. The deadline to amend or get that one was May 17, 2024.
Is there a reason that you think you should have received more for 2021?
Re: specialist's answer: I'm confused, based on hearing from the Turbotax Help Desk that I CAN still file for the credit, but we were discussing amending the 2021 (not 2020) tax year form--last date April 15th 2025 for that amendment. Line 30 of Form 1040 appears to be the line but I cannot get TurboTax to prompt me for the credit. Is all of this correct, and I'm assuming I can somehow enter the credit on Line 30 directly for my 2021 amendment? Thanks in advance.
The way to get to the prompt for the recovery rebate credit was in the Federal Review part of the 2021 software.
You still have not explained why you think you did not get the full credit. Did you check your online account with the IRS to see what was shown there for the third EIP payment?
Look at your online account with the IRS to see if they sent you $1400 per spouse and per dependent in 2021.
