I'm using TT Deluxe and only want to efile my Fed Return but TT automatically want to charge for a State Return. Is there a solution for this...problem?

I think the post "says it all." Is this a ploy TT is using to force people to pay for a State Return. There is no option NOT to pay to efile State.

Go to the beginning of the state preparation area.....and Delete the state return you may have started.

You can re-start it later AFTER the federal e-file has been accepted.  Do Not touch anything for your state until after you e-file the Fed....until the Fed filing has been "Accepted"  (not just transmitted...not received...not pending...but actually "Accepted")

I hit the back button several times until I got to a screen that asked about e-filing Federal taxes now and State e-filing underneath. I chose to e-file the Federal and not the State and that worked. They make it difficult in this year's software, don't they? Sneaky!
