I'm not self-employed, though I was last year, but TurboTax defaulted to self-employed version and I can't go back to the basic version. How do I access the free version?

If you didn't previously close out your Business in TurboTax, you may want to use the Self-Employed version this year so you can do so.

Type 'Schedule C' in the Search area, then 'Jump to schedule c'.

Indicate that you 'stopped this Business in 2022' in the Business Profile section.

Enter any Business Income/Expenses you had in 2022.

Dispose of any Business Assets you were depreciating (and Business Vehicles would be 'converted to personal use').  Keep a record of any Vehicle Expenses/Depreciation you claimed, as you will need that info later when you sell or trade-in the vehicle.

Here's How to Clear and Start Over
