The are various reasons why your refund might change since you last logged in. You can review your Wage & Income inputs to make sure your wages and income tax withheld are still correct.
Review all other income items and also your Deductions & Credits for accuracy.
You can also clear your cache and cookies by following these steps before logging back into your account.
Thanks for your response, Hope.
I cleared my browsing history, cache and cookies, and double-checked everything again, and nothing went back to how it was before I saw the drop in my refund amount. The amount dropped by 28% without me changing anything.
Is it possible that tax laws just changed in the last few days? I spoke to a tech support person, and she was suggesting that.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Daniel L.
You didn't mention when you had last worked on your tax return before you logged in and noticed a change in your refund. Even though the tax program is available to be worked on in January, there are adjustments still being made by TurboTax both in response to changes in tax laws and final adjustments to the program. It is possible that there was an adjustment to the program that changed your tax. Also, until you finish your tax return and go through the steps to get it filed, it is subject to change when a final review is done to make sure everyting is ready for filing.
To make sure everything looks alright, I suggest you print the return out before you file it and compare it with last year's return and investigate any noticable irregularities.
