Do I report income that I received on a 1099g for a taxable grant for my farm business? Turbo Tax does not ask me to enter income reported in box 6 of 1099-G. If so, how?

I followed the Turbo Tax steps under farm business, but at no point does the software ask to enter taxable grant income from Box 6 on 1099-G.

Yes, you must report income from a Form 1099-G, Box 6, Taxable Grant. It will appear on Line 21 of Form 1040 "Other Income".

You can enter this directly using Forms View - select "Open Form" and type in "1099-G".

Or, in Easy Step go to "Other 1099-G Income" interview in Personal > Personal Income > Other Common Income.

(You cannot enter a Form 1099-G, Box 6 amount  in the Farm Business interview. It just isn't there.)

I have same problem and I would like to report the taxable grant money on schedule F to offset farm expenses that I incurred to meet the NCRS grant requirements (mostly labor expenses for tree plantings and forest stand improvements).  I'm not concerned about the SE tax since I am showing a farm loss this year, I am more concerned that in showing a huge farm loss might trigger reclassification of the farm as a hobby farm, which it is not, it is a tree farm.
