I have payment confirmation please apply

Why was the confirmation received for payment not applied to my account showing paid. Now im getting a notice i owe.

I would recommend checking your online account with the IRS to confirm whether the payment was applied correctly. The IRS would be the only agency able to assist with how your payment was applied.

What did you pay for? Maybe it was only for the Turbo Tax fees? How did you pay it?

Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out. Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the IRS or state for them to take it out of your account. And the IRS or state does not update Turbo Tax when or if they get your payment.
