You have not provided enough information. You do not say if the summer job was from which you received $6500 was your ONLY income, or told us if you will get a W-2 or a 1099NEC. Was anything----Social Security or Medicare (FICA) withheld from your paychecks? If you were self-employed---working as an independent contractor--you will owe self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare.
Without any personal information, please provide some details.
Are a teenager or student who had a first job? Ask the company or person for whom you worked what kind of tax document they will be issuing to you in January. They have until January 31 to issue a W-2 or a 1099NEC. If you were treated as an "independent contractor" they have to issue a 1099NEC if you made over $600, and you will owe self-employment tax. You will be required to file a tax return showing that self-employment income.
If you will get a W-2, and no federal or state tax was withheld from your paychecks, then you will not be required to file a tax return if the $6500 was your only income. If the $6500 was your only income and no tax was withheld, you will not be getting a refund.
