I have a joint bank account with my minor child (both ssn on the account) interest is $600-- do i report it on my taxes?

or does my child have to file and report it?

Report the interest on your tax return since you are an owner on the account.

What if you are joint owner of the minor child account but it's under the minor's SSN and the minor is the primary owner?

The interest will be reported based on the ssn on the 1099-INT form.
