Tax Year Prior to 2020: Turbotax is only importing half of my Ally Bank 1099-INT's available when I compare them with the hard copies provided by the bank.

Do you have more than one account? If you can't get them to import, enter them manually.

I have 7 CDs with different Account Numbers, but the same amounts/interest.  TT only imported ONE of the CD's.  YET ANOTHER TurboTax bug.

2019 taxes:  TTax brought down 2 of 4.  I called Ally to explain this glitch.  Ally help/support is usually Grade A, IMHO.  However, their answer here was that it's a TurboTax issue.  I think Ally should do their customers a favor and consult with Intuit to see if there is a resolution on either the Ally or TTax side.  Some faithful Ally customers won't notice the missing interest and might be flagged by the IRS for a incomplete/incorrect return. Ally disagree with me.

Absolutely inconceivable that this has been allowed to persist for years.  Must have resulted in thousands of incorrect tax returns, subjecting many to penalties, interest and lots of inconvenience.  Clearly, neither TurboTax nor Ally cares.

You may want to delete the 1099 INTs in TurboTax and retry importing again. If all fails, you may want to manually enter the interest statements in TurboTax.

My problem is TurboTax imported 1099-INT amounts for too many accounts: Not just our 3 accounts, but 2 additional accounts -- with different taxpayer ID #s -- for which I am the Trustee. It took a long time to discover this. How do I find the account # in TurboTax so I can delete the 1099s (& income) from these trust accounts???  (Amounts on the 1099s are identical those on our personal accounts, so we need to find the account # before we delete a 1099.)

Which version of TurboTax are you using?  TurboTax online or TurboTax CD/download.  If you are using TurboTax online, when you are in Income & Expenses and scroll down to Interest and Dividends, do you see the 1099-INT amounts listed per account?  Or are the 1099-INT amounts combined into one entry?

I used the CD version.  I noticed that it did properly import my data this year.  This is a big improvement.

The issue with Ally Bank only importing the first account has finally been fixed.  All my Ally Bank 1099's imported properly this year!  So you can give this a try to see if it works for you as well.

I did notice that TT corrected the error with importing Ally Bank's 1099-INT.  Excellent!!  The only 'problem' was that the names of each account were different from what I had entered the year before (which were imported from last year).  So, I had to delete all the previously entered 1099-INT entries from the past year.  I will take that over manually entering all those Box 1's any day.  🙂

Thank you!!

It is 2023 and I'm doing 2022 taxes. Yes, it is STILL a BUG! Good thing I reviewed all the 1099-INT forms and found that it imported only some of the accounts' interest. Gee, what would have happened if I sent it to the IRS as is?!  Do it manually... and check any other INT or DIV forms and compare it, just in case this bug shows up in any other combined statements.
