I had no income last year, am on Medicaid, live with my Mother who is on Medicare & is claiming me as a dependent. Do I file? I feel wrong if I don't?

If you have no income of any kind in 2017 to enter on a tax return, then there is no reason why you need to file a tax return.

However, because of the Medicaid, it may be easier to file a tax return.  When you reapply for Medicaid (which is usually done annually) the Medicaid agency may need proof of your non-income.  Filing a tax return with $0 of income (or $1 of interest to allow you to e-file) may be the easiest way to prove that.
