I had an overpayment on my state taxes in 2020 applied to the 2021 return, but TurboTax did not import this into this year's return. I cannot find where I can enter this.

I cannot find where exactly I can type this amount in. In the state section of TT, it tells me to search in the Federal section on where to enter this, but I can only find where to type in estimated taxes (not on applying the overpayment from 2020).

Please follow the steps below to enter the overpayment of 2020 to the 2021 Tax Return:

  1. Click on Tax Home from Left Side Menu.
  2. Click on Deductions & Credits from the main screen.
  3. Scroll down till you see the section titled "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid. Within this section, Click Start next to the option "Income Taxes Paid".
  4. There will be a section titled "2020 Refund Applied to 2021". There will be an option for "2020 refund applied to 2021 State Taxes". Click Start next to it. You can then enter the overpayment and apply it.
