I had 2 employers incorrectly contribute more than the max PFML in MA, I made less than 168,600 it says I cannot get the excess back. Can I edit the worksheet?

This worksheet is not one that can be edited in TurboTax.  Is there an error that is preventing you from filing?  If so, please provide us the error message and we can work to help you resolve it.

The turbotax software does not calculate any excess PFML payment unless you enter an income over 168,600 - however I did not make an income over 168,600, though my employers combined to submit $842 in PFML payments, the maximum is $775.  I should qualify for the excess PFML refund however the interview form in turbotax does not let me calculate it correctly.  I have calculated it myself on a spreadsheet now and entered numbers that make it come out to the same amount in turbotaxes broken interview form.

The excess can go on line 49 when you meet the requirements, and you do. The 2024 Form 1 Instructions state:

Line 49 – Excess Paid Family Leave withholding (PFML) is not the amount shown on your Form W-2. You must use the worksheet for line 49 to see if you qualify and to calculate the excess amount. Each taxpayer would need to have multiple W-2’s and to have paid PFML greater than $775.56 to qualify. Or, have paid on the gross amount of self-employment income, not the net.
