I had a VERY simple return this year. I had a W-2 from one employer, $350 interest from one bank, and I claimed the standard deduction.
The least expensive option I was shown was Turbo Tax Premium. So, I paid $178 to file my federal and state form. I foolishly paid, thinking this was my only option. Apparently, this is irreversible.
Shame on you TurboTax!

Not sure who it was who "showed" you the option you chose as the lowest. We bought Turbotax Home and Business for $82.99, not the $130 that is the "list price." Most things you buy hav a list price and a discounted price, including Turbotax. You have to shop around. If you do a simple internet search for "Turbotax versions" you will see Intuit sites with product descriptions but also unbiased reviews such as found here: Which TurboTax Version Should I Use in 2023? (wallethacks.com) where you will see that you can probably use a free version to file. E-filing will come with a fee, generally $25 per filing, although the version we bought has federal and one state free e-filing, which is worth $50 total of the $82.99. It is your responsibility to shop around/research before you make any buying decision, especially before you buy anything from a salesman. For example, when you go to Home Depot to buy a sump pump, you'll see expensive models displayed prominently and less expensive ones on the next aisle back. Every seller wants to sell you up. It is the seller's job to separate you from as much money as possible. It is your job to retain as much as possible when you make a purchase. You need wisdom in the future! I'd like to be a used car salesman and serve you.
@Calm Thinker Just to clarify.....You bought the Desktop CD/Download program. The original poster was asking about the Online versions. Desktop and Online are priced differently.
The Online Premium version is a new version this year. It is not shown on the regular product page so I don't know how you found it. And actually you should have been able to use the Online Free Edition for your income. The regular online versions https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare/online/
Since you already filed you can't get a refund. If you had asked us before filing or paying we could have helped you get into a lower cost version or even the Free Edition.
I filed turbo tax deluxe- ended up with $813.00 out of $1525.00 refund what can I do? I realize I had to pay them. Where did the rest of my refund go?
It's possible the IRS offset or adjusted your refund. You will need to visit the IRS's Where's My Refund site where you'll get information about your refund.
