Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I filed 2022 tax return with Turbotax expert for a certain amount not containing cents. My state sent a notice with interest to pay. Expert did not advise of the cents.

I filed the tax return last April with a tax expert and while paying the expert only put that I owed 841$. Apparently I owed 841.06$ and now I got a notice from my state asking for the balance with interest added. I have picture evidence that they said I did not owe the 6 cents. How can I get help?

You could hire a lawyer and sue but it would probably be faster and cheaper to pay the six cents and the interest on it.

To clarify, could you please tell us which state?

You got a bill from the state for 6 cents plus interest?  I would call the state and see if there is something else wrong with it.   Or maybe your tax due didn't get paid?  How did you pay it?  Do you have proof you paid it?  Your only proof of payment is your bank statement or credit card showing the payment coming out. Turbo Tax only passes your bank account number to the state for the state to take it out of your account. But most states do not let you pay by Direct Debit so you have to mail in a check or go directly to the state's website to pay.
