If you have filed the 2025 tax return -
You will have to wait for the IRS to either Accept or Reject your filed federal tax return.
If the return is rejected you can make the necessary changes and e-file again.
If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

So did I. I thought the question was how much i get paid an hour, not how much my total OT pay was. I was expecting follow up questions to clarify but and then i lost track and submitted. I only had 1/2 hour of my wage, not the multiple 1000's i earned.
As DoninGA menitoned, you can still make changes if your tax return hasn't been transmitted. If it has already been accepted by the tax authorities, you will need to amend the tax return to make changes.

I also incorrectly reported the wrong amount for my OT. I realized after I submitted my tax return that I accidentally calculated my OT amount from my most recent paystub instead of the last paystub from 2025. I’m not sure what to do. Even if I amend my tax form I’m not quite sure how to prove that the updated amount is correct since I had to calculate from my paystub and my employer wasn’t required to report the OT amount on the W2.
If the difference in overtime is small, it may not be worth filling out an amended tax return. If the difference is $100, the reduction in tax will probably be between $12 - $20.
If you do choose to amend the return, you should keep a copy of the calculation you did to determine the overtime and a copy of the new pay stub that you used. This will be your proof if the IRS were to question your calculations.
TurboTax will be available to process amended returns for 2025 in late February of 2026.
