what the code letter?
The code letter on my w-2 is S.
Please clarify your question.
I was able to post a Box 12 with an S code.
I did get a warning that if the retirement contribution was too large it was a problem.
Did you get an error message or was it that you couldn't file your return.
Please give any additional details that you can.
We have tons of posts in here...where the Code S is delaying the Filing of tax returns,
Because...because the IRS has very recently (early January) changed some background rules on how those "S" coded entries are to be handled/reported.
It's being worked on........no particular date has been posted on for resolution yet...but that's what happens when the IRS makes a late change like that.
It just wouldn’t let me file and kept bringing me back to box 12.
As stated......if its a code "S", then you have to wait for TTX to adjust the software to take care of whatever the IRS wants changed. That could take a couple weeks.
If its not an S code, you'd have to describe to us what you are attempting to enter.
In what time frame will this be updated?
If you make the cents .00 it will go through on efile for the W2 box 12 code s dollar amount.
