I claimed a dependent who isn't eligible for the child tax credit. Will my return still be delayed?

No, if the dependent qualifies as your dependent and has not been claimed by themselves or another taxpayer, but does not qualify for the child tax credit because of age (for example) it should not delay your return.

If the dependent claims him/herself on their own return or is claimed by another taxpayer, it will likely delay your return and you will be contacted by IRS.
