What I did was when I got to the state part I deleted it and started that section completely over. If none of the credits they ask about applies to you keep going. Once I was finished nothing came up about form 8582 and I was able to file successfully! Hope this works for anyone else with this issue!!
People using the TT mobile app or TT online do not have those options only those who have the software on a desktop. I just ended up filing mine thru MD tax website
I gather you lost the $$ to TT that you paid to file with them? UGH
I just tried to file my state and federal, federal went through but state is still saying 8582 form which doesn’t apply to me. It’s now 02/04/2022 I can’t even download the state information because of this.
This is good advice, thank you for stating it. Yes the federal returns can be e-filed still, it will allow you to get your return into the IRS for approval and get your refund process started, all while you wait for the state documents to be ready.
I had a issue saying 8812 form which is child credit. I id not answer questions about child credit so I was at a loss. Then I went back and said yes I want to see if I am eligible (knowing that I wasn't, then the issue with 8812 went away.
I'm having the same problem. Last year their was an issue filing my MD taxes as well. I really think it's a turbo tax issue. No other tax program had these issues.
I have the same issue.
Hi where do you find the form ?
When the error message comes up, click on go to forms, or forms view, and you should see the offending form 8582. Then you can override the offending zero and hopefully get past the error.
If we follow this way, can we later go back and re-add the state return? Because it seems to think that deleting my state return is a done deal.
I do have the same issue. i've been trying to efile my taxes but I can't move forward because of the 8582 form which i don't need.
SO FRUSTRATED
How do you delete it?
So I just got off the phone with (Maryland) comptroller they said that form is a irs form and not a state form. They also said we can file our state on their website.
Has anyone been able to file due to this form? When should it be available I am trying to file my Maryland but can’t because this form isn’t ready yet
