@UEAFRY
False Advertising! In the program I selected to use my free state filing. It says free State on the packaging. Deceiving at a minimum, illegal at the worst. I've use TurboTax since it first became available. I will find another program I can trust.
@St0gie57 There is a lot of confusion about this. For the Desktop version it's a free download of one state PROGRAM, not returns filed. You can prepare unlimited federal and unlimited state returns. Some people need to file in more than one state so they have to buy another state program. You can print and mail the state for free or each state return including the first one is $20 early or 25 to efile.
Check the box or description. It should say Federal + Efile + State. Not state efile.
Very misleading Symantec’s! It doesn’t say Efile Federal only. Just like the Free version isn’t really free. There’s always something to charge more for. I’ll pay the $15.00 for Efile for state. However it will be last $ Intuit will see from me. Been a customer as far back as I can remember, but that will change next year.
Exactly! This is the 2nd time Turbotax has done this to me. I need to screen shot next time and put them on blast on every social media platform. I wonder how much they have ripped off people. They hope the don't get a class action lawsuit.
It is stated in the program when you finish the federal not talking about the box.
