No the online account doesn't know anything about the Desktop program. They are completely separate. Just ignore the emails to file. If you used the Desktop program it is only saved on your computer and not online. So be sure to save your own backup copies of both the pdf file and .tax2022 data files.
Thanks for the quick response. Seems really strange to me considering I had to log in with my account even in the desktop program. Seems like a miss on TurboTaxes part - I can't imagine I'm the first person to use the online software and then later use the desktop version. I like that TurboTax previously had all my returns saved online. The fact that it now is missing a year substantially decreases that incentive to keep using TurboTax.
Anyway, thanks again for the response!

You do not have to log in to the online program when using the CD, *UNLESS* you are going to do something such as post a message in this forum.
With the CD version, after you have installed it on your computer, you just click the TurboTax 2022 icon on your desktop to start the program. No login required for that, and never has been required with the CD version.
