I asked my tax back to be send by check in my hometown in france. Is it automatic or shoulf I send something before? If yes, to who and what?

If you have successfully filed the return and asked for a check to be mailed, the government will send it once they have completed processing and approval of the refund. Processing times can vary. It can take anywhere from a few days up to 3 weeks or more for them to complete processing. There is no need to send anything unless they request something. 

A check will be mailed to the address that you put on your tax return. Checks that are mailed internationally will take a while longer to receive, after the IRS has processed your return. 

To check the status of your refund, go to Where’s My Refund. If you haven't received it within 45 days after they specify on that site that they have mailed it, you need to contact the IRS by calling the International Taxpayer Service Call Center at 267-941-1000 (Monday-Friday, 6 am-11 pm EST).
