Was the 2016 return prepared in Online TurboTax, and have you located it in your account when you look in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents?"   If so, what happens when you click the link to print/download the PDF--does it tell you access is locked and asks you to pay?   If so, we can tell you how to do that.   

How to unlock the 2016 return depends on what all you have done for your 2018 return.  Have you already filed a 2018 return with Online TurboTax, or have you started one?  Is it in Free Edition, and is it in the SAME account as the 2016 return?
Or do you not plan to use TurboTax for 2018?

Yes we did it online, and yes it states that have to pay to have access which I just paid $79.99...yes I have filed for my 2018 but my husband has not...I decided to file married but separately this year...and no I did not file using Turbo Tax online I went to an accountant who filed for me this year as I am trying to get our taxes settled for 2016 and 2017.

Is there any way that I can just talk to someone over the phone to discuss this matter as it would be easier. I am a teacher and have to go to work while my husband is a truck driver and won't be home until the weekend and I am the one trying to get things resolved...I do not understand why we did not get our refund in 2016 and my husband claims that he did or sent the IRS what they needed. In 2017 my husband did not file because we owed a lot of money and we could not afford the online turbo tax fee amount...so I am hoping to use the 2016 refund to pay for 2017 and for what my husband owes for 2018 but in order to this my account would like to see the documentation we filed for 2016 to determine how she can help.

The email address above is an account I (wife) personally do not have access to. But since in 2016 and 2017 we filed jointly I, the wife, am hoping to resolve this matter.

I put this up around 5-6 am Pacific time I am home for about 30 more minutes as I have a school function to go to which end at 7 pm Pacific time...will I get a response soon or will it be tomorrow?

Sorry, I don't know.   When you use the form I linked to below, it should have let you either schedule a callback or provided a number.

If you don't have luck getting a callback or phone number with that form, you could try this number and indicate you are using CD/download software:   (800) 446-8848.  If the automated phone tree asks for your issue just say "customer support" or "speak to a representative".

You mentioned purchasing something for 79.99.  If that was 2018 desktop software, that does qualify to unlock prior returns.

In any case, this is mainly a user community forum.  Here's how you can speak to the folks at TurboTax Support so you can tell them of your purchase and let them figure it out.

You can use the form at the link below to schedule a call back, or it may provide a number.  Hours are 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern) Monday-Friday.

Where the form asks what product you are currently using, be sure in the dropdown menu to indicate "CD/download", the proper operating system, then indicate which Edition.
